Inspired by both artistic and mathematical approaches, the art center on 9111 North Maple Avenue is characterized by organic curvatures, an emphasis on light and biophilic surroundings. The main source of inspiration was the texture of paint strokes on white paper. Individual horizontality of each hair of the brushstroke provides organic appearance, and plays with natural light and shadow in the most ornate of details.

THE MIXED-USED ARTIST MUSEUM IS DESIGNED TO BRING THE NEIBORHOOD WITHIN THE VICINITY TOGETHER AS A WHOLE. TO ACCOMPLISH THAT GOAL, THE SITE PROVIDES MULTIPLE WALKING PATHS WITH INTERESTING FEATURE TO LOOK AT AS YOU MAKE YOUR WAY THROUGH THE SITE.
THE ARTIST ROOMS ARE DESIGNED TO REFLECT A SMALL-SCALE VERSION OF THE MUSEUM TO CORRELATE THEM WITHIN ONE ANOTHER. WITH A TOTAL OF 9 ARTIST ROOMS LAYED OUT, IT LEAVES THE 10TH BUILDING AS A SHARED RESTROOM FOR THE ARTIST ONLY. THE ROOMS ITSELF ARE DESIGN TO LET IN AS MUCH DIRECT SUNLIGHT AS POSSIBLE. TO ACHIEVE THAT, WALLS THAT FACE THE WEST/EAST ARE JOINED WITH CURTAIN WALLS.
